Isotherms connect points of equal air temperature.Closer spacing indicates a steeper thermal gradient.
Read the spatial pattern
Located data: the City of London reaches about 11°C while Hillingdon is about 5°C.
Gradient: minimum temperature generally falls with distance from central London.
Irregularity: the isotherms are not perfectly concentric, so equal distance does not produce an equal temperature change.

Useful
Shows the spatial extent of the heat island and makes thermal gradients easy to identify.
Limitations
One historic snapshot, minimum temperature only, no scale bar or north arrow, and no evidence that the pattern repeats.

Model judgement
The figure is useful because the isotherms make the thermal gradient across London immediately visible and allow located comparison. However, its value is limited by the age and narrow temporal scope of the data, so it demonstrates the pattern more convincingly than it proves its present day magnitude.

Students receive the resources used in the session. Depending on the topic, this can include structured notes, annotated maps and diagrams, case study sheets, data interpretation tasks, model paragraphs, essay plans, mark scheme extracts, quotation banks, grammar summaries, vocabulary banks and worked examples.

Bespoke activities between lessons
Where useful, I set a task designed around the exact skill practised in the lesson. Examples include timed exam questions, paragraph rewrites, figure analysis, calculations, retrieval tasks, translations, speaking preparation, essay planning and short research exercises.

Marked homework with specific corrections
Homework that I set is reviewed and returned with clear written guidance. Feedback identifies where marks were gained, the exact point at which the response became weaker, language or content errors, and what the student should change in the next attempt.

Exam technique
Exam board feedback and model improvement
Exam responses are reviewed against the relevant assessment objectives, level descriptors and mark scheme. Students are shown how to improve the answer through targeted redrafting, stronger evidence, more precise analysis or a model sentence or paragraph where that is useful.

Fortnightly feedback for parents
Parents receive a concise update covering what has been taught, the student's current strengths, the main issue still limiting progress, work completed between lessons and the priority for the next fortnight.

A tuition plan that changes with progress
Future lessons are adjusted around mock results, school assessments, exam dates, NEA or coursework milestones and recurring errors. The plan therefore changes as the student's needs change.
